My 2 1/2 year old just finished a 3-week series of swimming lessons at Aquachild. Her first week was tear-filled, her second week was dry-eyed but still with calls of, "Mommy," and her third week was full of smiles. A full series of lessons is usually 6 weeks, but we came in from out of town specifically to take lessons there because we saw what they accomplished with my niece when she was 2. After just 3 weeks, my daughter could propel herself to the stairs/edge/other destination by kicking, she could easily float on her back and, most importantly, she could get to a float on her own.
